BOXEE
I created an app on the Boxee Hardware box. I used XML code to create the app. I designed the UX for a 10 foot experience with a remote control. l created all graphics. The playlists were dynamically generated from RSS feeds.
ROKU
I created a Roku channel utilizing the tools on the Ooyala platform. At the time there were no solutions for inserting pre-roll advertising. I worked with YuMe Engineers and we were able to implement pre-roll advertising on the Roku platform. The channel was discontinued when the business model was changed to an aggregation site and the video format we needed was not supported by Roku. This led to the next phase which was a custom Diversion TV set top box featured below.
DIVERSION TV SET TOP BOX
The Diversion TV set top box is an action sports specific solution to bring the latest content being published online to fans in the living room utilizing a format suited for action sports content.
I worked with manufacturers in China to secure hardware for a set top box based on the Android operating system and a remote control. The app is currently in beta stage and being tested in shops around the country.
